Al Tazid Foundation supports local communities in the poor villages in Bangladesh by providing equipment that they could not afford for themselves. For example, in the past, we have donated loudspeakers so that the Muezzin of the local Mosque could be heard giving the calls to prayer.
The month of Ramadan is a time of fasting and extra prayer, and a time when families join together in breaking their fast at sunset with a special meal known as ‘Iftar’. Each year during Ramadan we work with mosques and educational institutions in Greater Sylhet to distribute food. In this way more than two hundred meals are served on each day of Ramadan so that poor people can eat their meal with respect and dignity.
